Frank Lloyd Wright - Prairie Datum

The geometry of this pool is as individual as its mosaic. Inspired by the residence’s distinctive architectural language, the custom composition carries patterns from inside the home across an irregular pool with angled walls, sloping surfaces and curved transitions.

Small-format mosaic pieces allow the lines to remain precise as the artwork moves through the changing under water geometry. With colors selected for the Texas landscape, the installation extends the home’s design into the garden. Mosaicist tailored the composition to these unusual contours, making the pool’s shape an essential part of the artwork.
